In this interactive workshop, you will literally pick ideas out of a hat to brainstorm your own unique story. With lots of fun quick-fire exercises, you’ll learn the dos and don’ts of good writing and discover tips and tricks on story structure, characters, language features, and dialogue. Bring all of your questions for Sally and come prepared to let your imagination fly! This workshop is suitable for ages 12 – 18 years old. Book your FREE tickets, as spaces are limited About the author/facilitator: Sally Sutton is the author of more than forty picture books and junior fiction titles, including the Roadworks series with Brian Lovelock (Walker Books), The Cat from Muzzle with Scott Tulloch (Penguin Random), the Miniwings series with Kirsten Walker (Scholastic) and most recently, the decodable ‘Reading Adventures’ series Big Mess Jess and Jet Pack Jack with Sunshine Books. Sally has received multiple Storylines Notable Book Awards and in 2009, won best picture book at the NZ Post Children’s Book Awards with Roadworks, which went on to sell over half a million copies world-wide.
